How To Make Delicious Natural Juices
Fresh, Delicious & Healthy

I’m not sure if it’s the motivation of fully embracing the other side of age 45, or me rediscovering fun in my kitchen. Either way, I’ve become pretty proficient about making my delicious fresh juices these days, and I’ve perfected some pretty delicious blends. I’ve been embracing the undeniable health and beauty benefits of juicing for years now, but recently I’ve double-downed on making a fresh juice blend every morning.

While I’ve been rocking and rolling with my Blendtec blender for years, a few months back, my daughter surprised me with a new Breville juicer (after shoving the documentary Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead down her throat). Not because she needed it, but you know, as a mom and daughter date night. LOL! I know it is not the most exciting flick, but it’s essential for me to keep her mindful of how our bodies work.

If you haven’t seen it, it’s a must. You’ll thank me later! I love my new Blendtec. Specifically, I’m digging how I can make smoothies from it, too, since it does a hell-of-a job at retaining the fiber from the fruits and veggies.

The Art Of Juicing

There is a little art to juicing, and I find it intriguing. Seriously – it’s an art, and you know that if you’ve ever tried a watered-down juice, you spent way too much money for a knockoff.  No judging, I’ve done it more times than I’d like to admit.

Here’s the truth; I find juicing at home to be both relaxing and rewarding—especially first thing in the morning. Starting the morning with the aroma of perfectly riped fruit, your fave veggies, and fresh herbs is a real treat if you’re feeling risque.

I treat my morning juice routine like it is a part of my beauty routine. And once I finish my morning meditation and prayer, I am on to nourishing my body with pure, potent vitamins and minerals. It is no secret that what we put into our body directly correlates to our overall health, energy level, and outside appearance. If you’re not a juicer yet, and down for trying something new, I’ll warn you now- it’s addictive: both the taste and benefits.

My Fave Juice Blends

I want to share with you, two of my favorite blends at the moment. Pineapples, cucumbers, and apples are all fabulous for helping to firm our skin. Cucumbers are great for your hair, nails, muscles, and joints because of the high content of silica.  Pineapples contain bromelain, which promotes good digestion and is typically commonly used in skin-clearing masks and exfoliants. Cucumber and apple purify moisturize the skin, and they all work together to reduce inflammation.

  • 1/2 cucumber
  • 1/2 apple
  • 4 chunks of pineapple
  • Tiny-tiny piece of ginger (if you like a lil’ kick)

I’ve shared the ‘deets’ on cucumbers, but lemons and celery contain high amounts of water and vitamin A, which helps strengthen roots, hydrate your hair, and fights dandruff. Apples (especially green apples) help strengthen the hair, and spinach is a superfood packed with vitamins B, C, E, potassium, calcium, iron, magnesium, and omega 3-fatty acids.

  • ½ cucumber
  • 1 cup of spinach
  • 1 tablespoon size chunk of lemon
  • 1/4 of a celery stick
  • 1 apple
  • 2 chunks of pineapple

Trial And Error

Juicing is perfected by trial and error. With an open mind, enough options, and a few tries, you’ll create your perfect beauty refresher. I switch up my recipes by adding a smidgeon of this or a drizzle of that.

Ginger gives just about anything an energizing kick.

If you have a must-share juicing recipe, please share.

I LOVE trying new ones!
