Happy End of a decade-BRANDISTAS! I’m so looking forward to the great things we’re focused on and are claiming for this next decade (impeccable fashion included), and I appreciate you continuing to rock with me another year on this lifestyle journey of discovery and exploration. 2019 is ending with a wintery bang, frigid temperatures, intense winds, and snowfall throughout the States but a little weather can’t hold us down. Living between Atlanta and Chicago (as cold as it is, I’m exhausted from traveling and happy to be HOME), I’ve learned that you can’t fall prey to allowing the weather to control your schedule or how stylish you show up- or you’ll get bored at best. While I’m a warm weather, chill on the beach kind of gal, I have a business to run and busy lifestyle to maintain that isn’t ok taking a backseat to the weather, so I’ll slay through it like a champ! In spite of the freezing temps, our obligations, and responsibilities must be met- so I’ve embraced swapping out my traditional winter style essentials for heavier ones, as the show must go on in style and grace.
In the process of expanding my business, launching new products, and stepping up my fitness game, staying in to avoid the 20-degree temp just isn’t going to make the agenda, so in true brandista fashion, I layered on- layer after layer of fashionable, functional and warm pieces. Starting with undergarments, I threw on a long sleeve fitted cotton tee and a fave pair of Snoopy long johns. I inherited during my graduate school days at The University of Baltimore. And to think, I thought Baltimore was cold. Ironically of all the trousers I own, my blue and burgundy flat fronted Derek Lam plaid flannel ones are the warmest. Today, I outfitted them again with my cropped Topshop puff sleeve ribbed sweater, my burgundy and ohh- so warm fur vest (click for a similar one), you can opt for faux or real whatever your preference, and of course- my go-to, burgundy floppy wool felt hat. I love this hat, it keeps my ears and face as warm as how stylish she is! To complete my winter wonderland fashion look, I grabbed my burgundy suede booties, Gucci Satchel and Ray-Ban Oriental sunnies- and just like that, I was through the door to conquer today’s tasks. Yup, somedays I’m that monochromatic fashion babe and today is one of them, burgundy it tis’!
Needless to say, I’m enjoying layering, pulling out the fur and finding the courage to not be stopped by the weather or anything else for that matter. Bundle up, stay focus and let’s not leave anything on the table in 2019! Cheers to the lifestyle we’re choosing to live, goals we’re committed to accomplishing and the fashionable way we’ll embrace it all!!!
