How To Identify Your Power Silhouettes

by thebguide

Today’s ootd is my signature silhouette: fitted at the waist and streamlined through my hips and legs.

Every girl has personal style silhouettes that make her feel her most assured, poised and the best of her boss babe self. Once you’ve found it, it’s like your dirty little secret: holding the magic of your own superpower: embracing and enhancing things that feel and look amazing on you. It’s nothing short of magical discovering the best cuts, colors, fabrics and style staples that seamlessly allows you to express yourself in ways that are comfortable, fashionable and authentic. Unleashing our style sweet spot catapults us into a place of no longer wasting time stressing over what we’re going to wear, and instead, welcoming the joyful anticipation of recreating look after look of flattering silhouettes. Magical moments: allowing you to embrace the fun of exploring unlimited ways to recreate your signature street style.

Look Good To Feel Good

It’s long been confirmed, days we look our best it elevates our mood and lends to us also embracing our inner ‘rockstar’. Those days we pray would last forever, where our confidence meets our potential. Odd to think an influential part of that feeling is as simple as embracing clothing that works for you and your authentic personal style. I’m drawn to simple style staples that are minimal and easy to navigate because I have a complicated personality (or so I’m told). Working to accentuate the best of what your figure and personality have to offer should be fun and like second nature. Reflect on fall outfits you absolute love wearing, what is that you love them? What silhouettes do they create for you and which features do they highlight? As with anything else, pay attention until you discover your power silhouettes and once you notice the patterns have fun recreating them with different fashion looks in your wardrobe.

Power Pieces

I have long legs, arms, and neck;  power pieces for me include tops and dresses with either a high or low neckline, both work well to highlight my long neck. I have a small waist with hips and curvy legs, so for today’s look (my ootd), I went for waist hugging pants (see a similar pair here) with a mild stretch that allows breathing room for my curves of my hips and thighs, and streamline my silhouette straight down. Right now, my fashion centers around bodysuits in neutral colors, my fave vintage high waisted jeans, and a streamlined, nicely tailored, collar-poppable trench coat (shop a similar look). For my ootd, I added heavy accents to my favorite pony hair Gucci pumps and a narrow pony belt. In true personal style, I topped off the look with signature red lips courtesy of Mac’s red lip kit and a black vintage, Prada gold-accented leather clutch.

Nice look on you! My silhouette style is usually in at the waist and slightly flared at the hips. It makes for such a complimentary look.
