How To Dress Up Camouflage

by thebguide

Few things make me feel more confident than a sexy heel and clutch duo.

Where would I be without camouflage? Beautiful blends of green, black, beige and brown, perfectly woven to create the world’s best neutral. YESSS!  Secretly, for the benefit of my fashion styling, I’m  wishing camouflage would just go away, forcing me to replace the print I’ve leaned on as one of my go-to fashion trends for too long. I’m talking season after season, summer, fall, winter and spring.  There is no print I’m more drawn to than camo, while you’d think a girl can only have so much of one print in her closet, that is absolutely not true. For me, the more the merrier. So just what’s a girl to do when her favorite print graces the runways season after season with of exciting, new fashion ideas and must-have cuts, tones, and textures embellishing the already versatile print?  You dress that girlie up and rock her with a new flare.

Here’s how I’m doing just that; and loving all the fun that comes with it.

  • I’m pairing traditional camouflage pieces with dressier ones. Instead of rocking these camo print skinny jeans (shop a similar style here) which is a perfect ankle-grazing stretch denim that hugs my curves with a denim shirt or a tee; I’m giving her new energy.  Pairing her with a dressier, bell arm sleeved blouse, rampant this season. I opted for a black one today, but you can do white or one of the fall’s brights, think candy apple red or mustard. Oh-la-la!
  • Embellishment spices up most fall looks. And, so I did just that, adding a trifold of statement pieces:  a fabulous pair of shoes, a chunky necklace, and a black bag.  I went with a fave Prada duo from my closet: an open toe, black suede heel, and leather clutch.  Both ware staple style pieces already in my wardrobe that both ooze embellishments of gold. There’s a chunky gold strap with a signature closure on the clutch and dainty balls throughout the strap and heel of the open-toe heel. Such a sexy balance! Again, have fun but definitely, go for a heel and clutch duo with double the charm.
  • For a final touch, add a great statement necklace and just like that, you’ve one got a great dressed up camouflage look to rock with your fall looks.
